I will give you a little summary of the supposedly incredible advantages of the Neve theme.

Obviously, there is no doubt that its designers do not present it as a very unconvincing and hyper-complex subject to use, due to the commercial discourse it requires.

• An elegant and minimalist design with many ready-to-use demos that can be activated in just a few clicks.

Installed on more than 50,000 sites, it has excellent ratings (5 stars out of 5) and user reviews. The latter highlight, in particular, their "Simplicity" and his "Easy to use".

FYI, Neve is one of the free themes from ThemeIsle, a store created in 2012 and very well established in the WordPress ecosystem (at the same time they have an updated blog normally).

It is original and fun. Then in terms of effectiveness, themes that don't offer this option are, in my opinion, just as good.

At the same time, you can adjust the arrangement of menu items (alignment and margins) at the same time.

Extensive design options

You can then choose to display a sidebar on the left or right, and adjust its width with a simple click.

This way you can choose:

• The arrow location (left or right).
• Its size.
• Its color, as well as the one in the background and when the mouse passes over it.
• Your degree of rounding (border radius).

Elementor Booster

Decidedly, in order to use this new module, you must first have Elementor installed.

This may be the case if you have activated one of the demos of the theme that works with it.

I was expecting an offer, I had to be satisfied with "single" 4 new widgets (modules for Elementor).

You will find them in the page builder interface in the section Neve Pro Plugin Widgets:

• From the Check boxto add customer notes and comments about your products (if you have them).
• Buttons to share on social networks (Share Buttons).
• Typewritten headlines.

In the end, these 4 widgets provide a significant advantage, but not enough to revolutionize your Elementor practice (these widgets are already present in the Pro version of Elementor, but under different names).

And that is still a long way from what some competitors like OceanWP are offering, as an example, with their Premium Elementor Widgets module, which adds about 50 new items.

Custom Designs (Custom Designs)

This module is more technically advanced but it may be interesting to customize the theme in a more advanced way.

These demos make it possible to create sites for different uses (Business, Ecommerce, Responsive, One Page etc.), and for different niches (Blog, Freelancing, Photography, Restaurant, Wedding, Fitness etc.).

Two things to keep in mind:

• First, they require the installation of a page builder (Elementor, Beaver Builder, or Brizy) - but this is all done automatically throughout the installation process.
• Second, only Elementor is compatible with all demos (only one works with Gutenberg, 14 with Brizy and 21 with Beaver Builder).

So far the point, but is a "one-click install" really feasible?

I have tested for you and the answer is 'yes'. At home, just go to Appearance > Options Neve > library of the site.

Then select the demo of your choice and click to import to start the automatic installation process.

Note: The creators of the theme advise you to save your site before starting an import (you can never be too careful). At the same time it is specified that some images will not be imported: ThemeIsle offers you a link to Unsplash, a library of free and royalty-free images, to find your happiness.

In the example of the Restaurant demo, you will see that Neve will at the same time install the Elementor page builder and the Orbit Fox extension to make the demo look like what you saw point by point.

Race results:

• Importing the demo took about ten seconds.
• The site is incredibly functional and looks exactly like the demo I have seen.
• I did not notice any errors, neither in the screen nor in the loading speed of the office.
• I can modify the content of the pages, but for this you must use Elementor (if you do not use it, it will take a minimum of time to get used to it, even if it is very intuitive).
• Regardless, there is no option to go back and remove the demo to get back to the essential settings. It is not very practical.

Without needing to know the code, it will allow you to create layouts of your choice using predefined templates, most of the time by dragging and dropping items (modules, templates) into your content.

Creating a site with a page builder is like child's play (you still need to familiarize yourself with the one you have chosen before doing what you intend with it).

When used with a theme, you will have even more customization options. This is the reason why the vast majority of themes on the market today are focused on being compatible with most page builders.

Let's go back to Neve, if you don't mind.

I told you during the Site Library visit that the demos were created specifically to work with Elementor, Beaver Builder, and Brizy (not to mention Gutenberg, who is not a page builder as such).

Elementor is best represented in all of this, and there is a reason for it. It's the most popular page builder in the official directory (over 3 million active installs!), And its interface is relatively easy to understand with a little practice.

At the same time, Elementor cites Neve as one of the ten free themes that works best with him.

So, from a practical point of view, what does it look like?

For the purposes of this article, I was able to test the theme with Elementor and Beaver Builder, and everything went very well.

More precisely, Neve is a WordPress theme that allows you to control the structure of your page, which is still very practical if combined with a page builder.

As an example, you can:

• Choose to display your content in full width (this is not feasible with all themes, and is only necessary) and change the percentage of the width of this content.
• Choose to show left sidebar, right sidebar, or no sidebar.
• Disable the items you don't use (for example, footer, header, page title).

Neve and Gutenberg

First introduced with WordPress version 5.0 in late 2018, Gutenberg offers more and more options as the months go by.

Today, you can use this content editor to create custom pages that look like something.

Even if the demo original is at the moment the only one compatible with Gutenberg in the Neve Theme Site Library, you will see that you can get a very decent result with Gutenberg.

If the options in Gutenberg Core are not enough for you, ThemeIsle recommends that you use its internal plugin called Otter's Gutenberg Blocks and Template Library.

What user experience does a site have that uses the Neve theme in WordPress?

Now, I suggest that you tackle a great piece: the interpretation of the subject.

First of all, because it is an important criterion to take care of the user experience: a slow site, nobody likes it.

In other words, we found the same number of requests made (7) and a page weight of less than 28kb (27.9kb to be exact, in Pingdom).

Otherwise, you will find some different data, and that is normal. It should be noted that the above results provide a first overview, but cannot be considered as a definitive and definitive judgment.
