AMP concept

What is the AMP or Accelerated Mobile Pages?

The AMP, short for Accelerated Mobile Pages, is a proposal that began to take shape in 2016 with the aim of improving the usability, reading and, in general, user experience of cell phone within any web page. Undertaken by Google with a total openness (it is open source), it has been active since then to facilitate the migration of the public to the mobile field.

The number of users who surf and use their phone to do everything on the Internet is constantly increasing; This is why AMP has gained so much strength in recent years despite also having a string of detractors who do not defend it at all. In spite of everything, the old frustration of people who could not navigate properly due to unadapted web designs, has been diminished exactly by this change of forms and modes.

Its operation is based on 3 simple points: AMP HTML, AMP JS and the use of caches. With the first, an online page is loaded much lighter than the standard one and available on computers; with the second, the necessary JavaScript resources are obtained so that everything works correctly and, finally, with the third a validation is carried out that verifies that everything is in order and, at the same time, a speed increase at the time of loading any website.

Increasingly widespread, this proposal is already part of practically any online portal. Its normalization is something that Google has been in charge of in recent years, hand in hand with other companies that have implemented it in order to speed up navigation.

What is AMP for?

The main purpose of Amp is that no problems when browsing for any page. When someone implements this system in their portal, they make sure that it is much more comfortable for those who browse with their smartphone and, at the same time, guarantees a much higher loading speed than by other procedures.

All this, in the eyes of Google, is nothing more than a positive. In this way, the search engine always rewards the portals that use this proposal, pushing at the moment of positioning them among its results.
