When deleting files in Windows 10, we did not receive a confirmation message, something that yesterday we told you to change in a simple way. This means that the files we delete go directly to the recycle bin. However, there may be files that you do not want to be left in the trash and you want to remove them directly from your computer.
If this is your case, The good thing is that there is a way to delete files in Windows 10 directly. Without these files going through the trash. Then it disappears directly from our computer. How can we do it?
Windows 10 sends all the files we delete to the trash by default. Only those files that are too large, which are completely removed from the computer. But, there is something more than a heavy file that you don't want it to go to the trash. In these cases, we have to use this trick.
We have two alternatives in this type of situation in which we want the file to leave no trace. We can activate an option in the recycle bin or we can use a combination of keys. We explain how both options work below.
Activate a trash option
The first of the two options allows us to delete files directly without going through the trash. In this circumstance, when activating this option we make the files that we delete permanently delete. Therefore we have to be sure that we intend to make use of this option. To activate it, the steps to follow are as follows:
- Right click on the trash and enter properties
- Select the option called do not move files to the recycle bin. Delete the files immediately after deletion.
We select this option and accept. From this dynamic, all the files that we delete from now on will not go through the Windows 10 recycle bin.
Use a key combination
The second option that we have available allows us to delete a file directly from the PC. But, it is an alternative that we can only use with a file. So it is for more specific cases. What we will do is choose the file and hold down the Shift + Del key. We can also press the Shift and right click and then we choose the option to delete. Afterwards, a window appears confirming that the file will be permanently deleted.
By doing this, the file will disappear directly. Therefore we will never find it in the Windows 10 recycle bin.
These two options are methods that Allow us to permanently delete files from our computer. But, we must use them if they are really things that we do not need, since otherwise we can make mistakes.
