SEA or Search Engine Advertising

Search Engine Advertising Concept

What is SEA or Search Engine Advertising?

The SEA, short for Search Engine Advertising, is all advertising activity carried out in search engines. That is, all the ads that are destined for both the SERPs and the Display networks from companies like Google. It is one of the immovable requirements of what is known as SEM positioning and, therefore, a current standard in marketing.

This is not something that works alone. To build any SEM-type campaign, it is necessary to combine both the web positioning, SEO, like this SEA. Both are the main pillars of paid position campaigns and, for this reason, two concepts that must be fully mastered when facing any search engine-oriented digital marketing strategy.

Given its definition, many confuse this term with the Search Engine Marketing and, even when they have points in common, they are completely different things. As we have explained before, the latter is a sum of factors among which is the concept that we are defining.

All the commercial promotion that we see in search engines is what responds to the concept of SEA. Ads that have been previously paid for as part of a campaign and typically have a fee based on the PPC (Pay Per Click), so they guarantee greater effectiveness with respect to the investment that has been made in them.

What is the SEA for

The SEA is used to make a brand, a product or a specific service visible in a search engine. It is part of what makes up SEM campaigns and conforms to all those ads that we find at the top of the SERPs and in privileged areas when we perform a search.

Given its payment system and its approach, it offers a high return value, since it always appears before an audience interested in the topic it deals with. It is an effective way to invest in business promotion and capture leads; even though it can also be aimed at direct conversion in the form of a purchase. The focus is influential, but for the company it is a very good way to attract customers.

Examples of Search Engine Advertising

If we search in the Google search engine for terms such as "online marketing agency", at the same time we find our website among the results, NeoAttack, it is feasible to see in privileged positions a series of links with the ad tag. It is exactly these ads that are part of an SEM campaign, but that format is what exemplifies what SEA is.

Any search carried out on this portal brings with it a series of results with top ads, which are nothing more than the fruit of this type of search engine-oriented commercial promotion.
