A quick note on the PHP mail feature of WordPress and SMTP
One last thing before installing a newsletter plugin and getting started. Without a doubt, a standard WordPress installation can be used to send a newsletter from the control panel (this is why we wrote this list). However, there are a couple of caveats to keep in mind.

Luckily, you can simply install an SMTP plugin to securely configure your email client, although you may need to do some research to make sure the SMTP plugin works well and doesn't conflict with your newsletter plugin. There are many third-party SMTP plugins, such as WP SMTP email or Easy WP SMTP that allow you to connect your WordPress site to a mail server (like SendGrid, Gmail, Yahoo, etc.).
Or if you can find a newsletter plugin that already ships with built-in SMTP, that's better! Some WordPress newsletter plugins already offer this built-in feature (like Jackmail) which is awesome.
