Despite being a disused browser, sometimes there will be no alternative but to use Microsoft's Internet Explorer, since, for example, in old versions or for Windows servers, it is the only web browser that is included by default. In spite of everything, the problem with this browser is that sometimes it is not updated to the new security measures.
For exactly this reason, it is feasible that you intend to perform some type of download from the network and that the browser in question does not allow it due to the security settings, finding ourselves before a major obstacle in the event that, for example, you want to download some type of program or equivalent.
How to fix Internet Explorer download error for security reasons
As we already mentioned, in this circumstance it is feasible that depending on the configuration you have defined on your computer, Internet Explorer takes care of automatically blocking file downloads from different websites. Regardless, you shouldn't worry about it as it can be easily fixed. For this, you just have to follow the following steps:
- Click on the options wheel in the upper right and later, in the drop-down menu, choose "Internet Options", to open the Internet Explorer settings box.
- Once inside, at the top choose the option called «Security» between the different tabsand make sure you are applying the alternatives for the correct zone.
- Then, at the bottom, select the button «Custom level ...» in order to allow you to customize the different options to your liking.
- You will see how a new box appears, where you should look for the option called "File Download" and make sure it is marked as enabled so you can allow the download.
- Smart! Apply and save your changes, reload the web page you were on and now you should be able to enter the download regularly.
