Google Panda concept

What is Google Panda?

Google Panda is one of the updates, revisions or new versions of the Google search algorithm. Its activity began in 2011, more particularly in February, there in the United States, arriving in Europe several months later, in April of the same year. Unlike more modern reviews, its impact affected about 13% of searches that were carried out through the famous search engine.

Its main premise was that, for a website to be able to position itself properly, it would have to have original 100% content, without duplicates of any kind, and especially be of use and value for the user. That is, this algorithm or set of mathematical operations analyzed all online portals in order to reward quality, with the consequent movement in positions at the time of appearing in the SERPs.

For this, it was based on the bounce percentages, on the time of permanence, the CTR and the total number of pages viewed by each user on a website. Based on this, it was able to establish whether it simply offered something more qualitative than quantitative to act by rewarding or penalizing its SEO.

Since its launch, hundreds of more updates have appeared for the code that makes up the Google algorithm, with important cases such as Hummingbird or Penguin. And it is that this search engine is something that is in constant growth and evolution, also forcing the webs to carry out constant monitoring to always boost their positioning based on the new rules that appear.

What is Google Panda for?

Google Panda is used so that users have easy access to portals where there is a constant quality of content. Its birth took place with the sole objective of rewarding quality before quantity, based on the criteria that we mentioned in the previous chapter.

For the user, it is a benefit, since it allows them to get good information and, especially, not feed plagiarism and duplicate content on networks. For the editors, it meant proposing new strategies in order to climb positions, but also a way of rewarding those who bet on the development of good and, especially, totally original content.

Google Panda examples

Giving examples of Google Panda is not feasible, since it consists of an algorithm whose content, at the same time, is protected. However, examples of its impact on navigation can be given. For portals like the one of our agency, NeoAttack, it is something that invites you to build sections such as that of blogs that we have, with variety and quality.

A glance at the results of any search can further illustrate the influence of this Google animal.
