Twitter copies Instagram and already includes filters in its mobile application

We had spent several days hearing about the opportunity for the famous microblogging social network to include photo filters in the new version of its mobile application. The truth is that it has not been long in coming and yesterday the new version of the official application for Android was released, where it is now possible to use the new filters on Twitter to upload Instagram-style photos.

It seems that things are serious and after seeing how Instagram restricted the posting of your photos on Twitter, the latter has gone to work to include its own filters and thus ensure that its users do not depend on Instagram to post photos with effects.

As we have discussed before, the new version of the application stands out for including a collection of 8 filters with effects that are very similar to those we can see on Instagram. The filters have been developed by the company Aviary, owner of the most comprehensive photo editing SDK to date, ensuring the success of the photo editing enhancements included in the current version of the official Twitter app.

If there is something to highlight in this new version of the Twitter application, it is the preview of the grid filters, undoubtedly a great improvement over the Instagram application. In our opinion, the grid preview is much more comfortable and faster than the one used on Instagram, since you see the result of each filter directly on your photo, without having to apply each filter one by one to see the result as it happens in the official application of Instagram.

Even though the 8 filters of the Twitter mobile application may seem few compared to the collection of 19 Instagram filters, the truth is that Twitter preferred to focus on using only the most successful filters on Instagram and do without the others, probably thinking more about the performance and weight of the application.
