This Mass Effect Andromeda issue has existed since the game's release in 2017. Some players see a "save data" error when trying to continue playing. This issue is reported to occur on Xbox One and PS4.
If you want to fix this problem, you should start with a simple cold start (ignition cycle) procedure. This procedure is confirmed to work on both consoles and clears all temperature data stored in the power capacitors.
However, the save data error may be entirely related to the game. The design of this game provides the maximum number of autosaves that the game can create. However, in previous versions of the game, this limitation did not prevent the system from creating entirely new ones; They were still created, but were partially corrupted and unusable. To fix this issue, you need to delete all irrelevant saved games (and corrupted instances) from your Xbox or PS4 console.

Delete saved game data on PlayStation 4
- Swipe up from the main toolbar menu and select “Settings” from the vertical menu.
- Scroll through the list of options and select “Manage saved app data.”
- Select Data saved in system storage, and then select Delete.
- You can find a list of all your saved game data in the Clear Saved Data (System Storage) menu. Browse this list and look for the entry Mass Effect:: Andromeda.
- Select the entry above and click "Options." Now select each unnecessary entry and click “Delete”.
- Restart your PlayStation 4 and check if the data logging error has been resolved.
Delete saved game data on Xbox One
- Access the Guide menu by pressing the Xbox button on the gamepad.
- Select “My games and apps”, then select the “Show all” menu.
- Go to the right menu and select “Mass Effect :: Andromeda. Press A to open the context menu.
- From the context menu, select “Manage games and add-ons”.
- From the left menu, select “Saved data”. Go to the menu on the right and select the user profile associated with your issue. Now select all the irrelevant saved game data that you want to delete.
- Select “Delete everywhere.”
Check external hard drive
If the error occurs when you try to run a game/application from an external hard drive or even during gameplay, it means that it is not working properly and you need to fix it.
This error usually happens after the PS4 system has already recognized and approved the external hard drive. In this way, the external hard drive works quite well on the PS4 until this error occurs.
The problem is not serious if the external hard drive does not make clicking or squealing noises. Most of the time, it is the bad sectors that impact the functionality of the drive and need to be disposed of.
