Fix Your Connection is Not Private Error In Chrome: Your Connection is Not Private or NET :: ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID error appears due to SSL error. Websites use SSL (secure sockets layer) to maintain the privacy and security of all the information you enter on their pages. If you receive the SSL error NET :: ERR_CERT_DATE_INVALID or NET :: ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID in the Google Chrome browser, it means that your Internet connection or your computer is preventing Chrome from loading the page safely and privately.

I have come across this error usually, and in almost all cases it is due to an incorrect clock setting. The TLS specification considers the connection invalid if the endpoints do not have their clocks set to almost the same time. It does not have to be the correct time, but they have to agree.

Your connection is not a private error in Chrome (NET :: ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID) or NET :: ERR_CERT_DATE_INVALID is the most common error you are going to face in google chrome, so let's see what it is about.

Your connection is not private. Attackers could be trying to steal your information from www.google.co.in (for example, passwords, messages, or credit cards). NET :: ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID

OR

Your clock is backward. A private connection to www.google.co.in cannot be determined because the date and time on your PC (Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at 5:53:55 PM) are incorrect. NET :: ERR_CERT_DATE_INVALID
