Email marketing is the cornerstone of the most successful online businesses. As such, providing email marketing services is big business. And even when it is feasible to be fooled into thinking that it is only important to note considering the likes of AWeber and MailChimp, there are alternatives.
SendinBlue is one of those alternatives. Public since September 2012, SendinBlue has set out to offer “the simplest and most reliable marketing answer for everyone” for both novice and advanced users.
Afortunadamente, SendinBlue no defraudó.
What is SendinBlue?
In short, SendinBlue is an online marketing service provider. If that's too ambiguous for your tastes, SendinBlue's service covers email marketing, transactional emails (for example, purchase confirmations and password reminders), and cell phone text messaging. Having celebrated their second birthday last month, they already have 20,000 users; It is not a number to sniff out.
But what makes them better than the competition? Well, as far as I'm concerned, that decision comes down to a three-factor consideration:
- Service. What do they offer that the competition doesn't? How does your service compare?
- Price. Are they more or less expensive than the competition?
- Incorporation with WordPress. How well does your service integrate with WordPress through your plugin?
I am going to address each of these factors in turn.
The SendinBlue service
- You can only send 9,000 emails per month (300 per day)
- The newsletter generator is only enabled for 60 days
I don't know of any really capable email marketing service provider that offers an absolutely free permanent membership for nothing, which is why SendinBlue's offer is as good (or better) than any other. If you're ready to try SendinBlue, the registration procedure is quick and easy - just enter your company name, email address, and password. The next screen you will see is your admin panel:
SendinBlue es un tipo de pez absolutamente distinto: intuitive is the word that comes to mind. SendinBlue offers a host of features, most of which you will be waiting for. Regardless, there are some more interesting additions:
- Unlimited "contacts" (that is, subscribers). So is; you can have as many subscribers as you want at no additional cost. More on this in the pricing section.
- Dedicated IP.
- "Activate marketing". This is SendinBlue's version of the auto-reply feature.
- Heat map. See where your subscribers are clicking in your emails.
- Incorporación de Google analytics.
- Real-time data tracking.
How much does SendinBlue cost?
Cost variety and flexibility seem to be the key selling points when it comes to SendinBlue's pricing alternatives:
As we have already discussed (and as was reasonably expected), the Free The plan is free and absolutely functional (for a limited time). the Micro The plan offers the same functionality as your Free compatriot; you can send many more emails. Is he Bronze plan and how interesting things get. They all offer the same set of features as the others; There are only two factors that make a difference:
- The more you pay, the more emails you can send
- You get a free dedicated IP when you subscribe to Gold plan or higher
What is it Bronze and offer above Free and Micro planes que seguramente sean de mayor interés.
The most interesting thing about the price is that it is calculated by the number of emails you send, not by the number of subscribers you have. This is oddly contrary to how AWeber and Mailchimp calculate their charges, and I like it. After all, having subscribers is passive; emailing them is what really counts. I have always been disgusted by the fact that AWeber charges me for people who have unsubscribed; something SendinBlue doesn't do.
How well does SendinBlue integrate with WordPress?
Any email marketing service worth its salt has its own WordPress plugin. Regardless, in my experience, many of them are not worth their weight in bytes. Then how SendinBlue offer rate? In a word: very good. (Wait, it's two words ...)
It feels like a plugin that has been designed as a core part of SendinBlue, not added as an afterthought (I'm looking at you, AWeber). It is not just a simple registration form plugin; The SendinBlue plugin is a fully developed WordPress centric email marketing solution, with all the features you would expect. I have included some screenshots below from the official plugin page. I could offer mine, but they don't show much in terms of campaign activity!

You will notice that some of the text in the screenshots above is in French. SendinBlue is a French company, so you can expect some Pidgin English within the interface and between the documentation, but you shouldn't let this detract from the quality of the plugin and the service. Given the size and growth of SendinBlue, one would expect a more professional translation to be implemented in no time.
SendinBlue is a feasible option to its competitors, even more feasible for WordPress users thanks to its excellent plugin. If you want to bring all your online marketing efforts under one roof and are looking for a cheaper alternative to AWeber and Mailchimp, SendinBlue might be right for you. It gives me the impression that it is a young and hungry company; not limited by the bloat of being a well-established giant and willing to do things differently.
