This article is an introduction to the Power BI dashboard. When you open or sign in to a Power BI service, you can see the default Power BI dashboard.

Recent Power BI
Same as recent files in Windows. It shows the reports, dashboards that we have seen recently.
Power BI apps
Power BI applications are a collection of reports and dashboards that help you analyze your business. This section shows the available applications.
Power BI shared with me
If someone in your organization shared a report or dashboard with you, then those shared items are displayed in this section. See the article Share a dashboard and Share a report for sharing options.
Power BI workspaces
Power BI Workspace is a collection of dashboards, reports, workbooks, and data sets. Shows the workspaces that are available to this account. I suggest you check out the Create Power BI workspace article to understand how to create a workspace.
My workspace in Power BI
This is the default workplace created by the Power BI service, and this is the default as well.
If you are opening this Service for the first time, then you can display the page shown below. You can use this page to import data to create visualizations.
Clicking the Skip button or clicking the My Workspace tab opens the following window.
- Dashboards: The Power BI dashboard section displays the Power BI dashboards that are available in this workspace. With the create button, you can also create a panel. I suggest you refer to the article Create a dashboard.
- Reports: The Reports tab shows the reports that are available in this workspace. With the create button, you can also create a new report. I suggest you refer to the article Create a report.
- Workbooks: This section lists the workbooks available in this workspace. That is, Excel workbooks that you loaded (did not import) into the workspace. I suggest you refer to the article Upload Excel Files.
- Data sets: This section shows the list of available data sets. You can create a panel with the create button.
