A small window appears on the start bar with the message "Windows could not connect to the system." The problem prevents a standard user from connecting to the system. As an administrator, you can read why the service is not responding in the system event log.

The error message looks like this:

C: windows system32 config systemprofile Desktop is not accessible

Access denied.

Unable to enter how to repair desktop:

Troubleshooting in safe mode

a. Restart your computer.
B. When the computer starts, you will see your computer hardware appear in the list. When you see this information, gently press the F8 key on your keyboard several times until the Windows 7 Advanced Startup Options screen appears.
C. Use the arrow keys to choose the Safe Mode option you want.
D. Then press the Enter key on your keyboard to switch to safe mode in Windows 7.
me. When you start Windows, you are at a typical logon screen. Log into your computer and Windows 7 will enter safe mode.
F. Complete all essential tasks, and when done, restart your computer to return to normal mode.

Manual copy of desktop folder to system profile

If you look closely at the error message, it will look for your desktop at C: Windows system32 config systemprofile. However, the common desktop location is C: Users Desktop. They are assigned internally. So to fix this problem if it works, follow these steps:

  1. Copy C: Users Desktop
  2. Navigate to C: Windows system32 config system profile
  3. Paste the desktop folder you just copied.
  4. Restart your computer and check if the problem is resolved.
  5. If you can't see your desktop folder, change the display settings to show and hide hidden files.

Use System Restore

1. Open System Restore

In the Windows 10 search field, search for System Restore and choose Create a restore point from the list of results. When the System Properties dialog box appears, click the System Protection tab and then click the Configure button.

2 Enable system recovery

Click here to enable system protection, then use the Maximum usage slider to set how much of your hard drive should be used for saving recovery points (5% to 10% is usually sufficient) and click OK.

3. Computer restore

When you want to return to a recovery point, reopen the System Properties dialog (see step 1), click the System Protection tab, and then click the System Restore button. Follow the instructions on the screen and, when prompted, select the desired recovery point.

Create a new user account

  • Right-click the Windows Start button.
  • Select Control Panel.
  • Select User Accounts.
  • Choose Manage another account.
  • Under Computer Settings, select Add New User.
  • Use the Accounts dialog to set up a new account.
