The main troubleshooter for fixing an error code is to repair your Office program if it crashes. We need to uninstall and reinstall the program. Following the steps involved can be helpful in understanding how to install Office programs and how to uninstall/repair Office programs.
- Press Windows logo key + X to see a list of commands and options. (This is simply a quick way to access Control Panel programs and features.)
- Click Programs and Features.
- Click the Office program you want to repair and click Change.
- Do one of the following:
- At the same time, in Office 2019 and 2016, please click Repair > Next.
- In Office 2013 and 2010, click Quick Fix.
You may need to restart your computer after the repair is complete.

There was a problem temporarily disabling proxy settings for background installation.
Control panel access:
1) Press Windows Key + Q, type “Control” and click on it.
2) Go to the Internet in the “Search” section and click on “Internet Options”.
3) Select the "Connection" tab, then "LAN Settings".

Use Event Viewer to view alerts from Microsoft Office

This solution includes checking for Microsoft Office warnings because the error can occur from within Office Add-ins. Office Add-ins are third-party programs that may not open or register Office programs correctly. As long as an error occurs, it is logged and we can access the logs by looking in the Event Viewer to understand the cause of the problem.
- Click Start and type Event Viewer in the search bar. Right click and select Run as administrator.
- Find the Applications and Services logs and double-click Microsoft Office Alerts.
- You can read the local descriptions and find out what exactly is causing this error.
- If it is a system error, click Start and search for cmd in the search bar. Right click and select “Run as administrator”.
- Copy and paste the command below and hit Enter.
