Restore Microsoft Visual C++ Distributed Files.

The issue with Warframe update error is frequently triggered by Windows update bugs or errors, which somehow messed up the installation of Microsoft Visual C++ distributed files. Other system files can be affected as well, and you need to take care of them after restoring the installed Microsoft Visual C++ distributed components.

  • Click the Start button and open Control Panel by doing a search. You can also click the gear icon to open the Settings app if you have Windows 10 installed.
  • In Control Panel, change the “Show How” option to “Category” in the upper right corner and click “Delete Program” in the “Programs” section at the bottom of the “Control Panel” window.
  • If you use the “Settings” app in Windows 10, basically click on “Applications” to immediately open the list of all programs installed on your computer.
  • Find the Microsoft Visual C++ package you are distributing in Control Panel or Settings and click "Edit" once. You may find that there are different versions of the utility. You must write them down and repeat the repair procedure for each version.
  • You may need to confirm some dialogs and follow the instructions in the wizard. Be sure to choose "Restore" for each version of the utility.
  • When the wizard is finished, click "Finish" and repeat the procedure for all versions of Visual C++. Check if you can now update Warframe by running it.
  • If it does not work. You can uninstall any Microsoft Visual C++ distributed package and download it again. You will need to reinstall Visual C++ by searching for it here. Select the version you want to download and choose the download according to your processor (32 or 64 bit).

Locate the file you just downloaded in your Windows folder, run it, and follow the instructions on the screen to install the Microsoft Visual C++ distribution package you have chosen to download. Repeat the same procedure for all previously removed builds and see if you can update Warframe again.

Change the language in the Warframe launcher

This fixed my problem when War Within update stopped. To do this, follow these steps:

  • Run Warframe
  • When you are on the main screen, tap the down arrow as shown in the screenshot below.
  • Switch between multiple languages
  • The launcher will restart and hopefully your issue will be resolved.

Disable your antivirus or Warframe.Exe whitelist.

Your current antivirus application may interfere with the exchange of data between the Warframe servers and your computer. You can open the antivirus app and add Launcher.exe, Warframe.x64.exe and Warframe.exe to your whitelist.

Before you add an app to your whitelist, it's a good idea to disable it to make sure it doesn't cause any problems.

Check for malware

The problem is probably related to malware. To understand if it is the culprit, you should use Malwarebytes to scan your computer.

  • Open Malwarebytes and select the scan option available on the main screen of the app.
  • The tool will most likely start an update service to update its virus database and then continue scanning. Wait until the procedure is complete. However, this may take some time. If malware is detected on your computer, make sure it has been removed or quarantined.
  • Restart your computer after the scan is complete.
  • Check if the issue with the Warframe update has been resolved.
