Elementor

Is performance degraded by widgets, fonts, or icons when not in use?

No. Performance does not degrade with widgets that are not used on a page.

  • Elementor does not load widget specific assets on pages where the widget is not in use, except for a small amount of basic CSS and javascript that should not be chunked.
  • Similarly, Elementor does not load assets for fonts or icons on pages where they are not in use.
  • So there is no need to disable Elementor's native widgets, fonts, or icons as they will only load your assets if they are actually in use on a page.

Some third-party plugins may allow their widgets to be deactivated, but that's a different scenario as they may require an active deactivation to prevent them from loading assets even when not in use. Elementor, however, does not have this problem, therefore it is not necessary to disable it.

In short, Elementor eliminates unnecessary asset loading, allowing your site to load faster, by loading only the assets needed for the specific page that is loading.
