The movie seems to fall short when you consider the high expectations of the movie. Both specialized critics and the general public have conflicting opinions. Despite everything, most agree that it does not come close to the greatness of the animated film, not even as a tribute to that film that captivated both children and adults.

Among the positive comments is that of Beth Webb in her review of Empire.

In an intermediate zone appears the criticism of Molly Freeman for Rant on screen, although in the end she concludes that she is not enough to be remembered with much affection.

"An acceptable live action adaptation that offers some of the magical and visual effects of the Disney brand, but is ultimately nothing more than a normal action movie," he added.
