Some users get error 90001 every 5-10 minutes while playing Final Fantasy XIV Online, even if they have a reliable Internet connection. This issue is commonly reported on Windows 7 and Windows 10.

Players received another annoying error in the form of 90001, also known as “Server Connection Lost.” The game splits from the game multiple times.
There is no official fix for this issue, but some players have been facing this issue for months. You can try updating your network card (NIC) drivers as Redditor WafforuDealer suggests, or by adjusting the power management settings for your network card, or see if that helps. This is usually a cause of network instability, and you may even need to try a different NIC to stabilize again, hopefully you won't!
Check server status
Go to the FFXIV server status page to make sure there are no issues with nearby servers. If the server you are currently connected to appears as "Partial Maintenance" or "Maintenance", try connecting to a different server while this error is resolved, or wait for the developers to resolve the server issue.

If you have already fixed the possible network inconsistency, the next thing you need to do is establish whether the error 90001 is associated with a network address translation (NAT) obstacle.
When your NAT is closed, it will be difficult for the game server to communicate with the end user's computer, so you can assume that this type of disconnection will occur regardless of which server you connect to.
Luckily, most routers these days have great support for open NAT using Universal Plug and Play (UPnP). Simply put, this automatically opens the ports necessary for the game you are trying to play so that your computer can connect to external servers without problems.
If your router supports automatic port forwarding, go to your router settings and enable UPnP.
Regardless, if your router does not support UPnP, you will need to manually forward the ports required for Final Fantasy XIV Online in your router settings. However, keep in mind that the number of ports you need to open depends on the platform you are playing on.
Enable UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) on your router

Step 1: Open your browser and go to the router configuration page. The default address is usually 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1. - Enter the router configuration page. You should be able to log in with an administrator using your username and password if you have never changed the default credentials. If that doesn't work, check online for specific steps to access your router's default credentials.
- On the WAN Internet Connection or Forwarding tab, on the Router Settings tab, look for the UPnP settings.
- Enable UPnP settings.
- Save your changes and restart your router and computer.
