Trish Sie's film divided the critics, falling far short of the acceptance that the first film of 2012. Some specialized analysts said it was an interesting, fun and appropriate closing, despite reusing formulas that gave good results throughout of the trilogy.
"Get back in shape (...) The film is effervescent, fast, very intelligent and is a good showcase for the personalities of its stars," wrote Owen Gleiberman for the Variety site.
Simon Thompson, in his comments for IGN, was less condescending with the latest installment of Perfect notes.
"A proper farewell, but usually lazy and out of tune (…) Despite having the elements necessary to succeed, Perfect Notes 3 is somewhat disappointing," he wrote.
Among the strongest criticisms of the film was the one he wrote. Frank Scheck for The Hollywood Reporter.
"The fatigue of the franchise is evident throughout this mechanical proposal (...) Whatever the charms of the first 2 films (...) they have been totally lost in this heartless installment," he said.
