On September 27 of this year, HBO premiered the drama series Homeland, a creation of Aitor Gabilondo based on the eponymous book by Fernando Arambaru. It is a look inside one of the hardest moments in the history of the Basque Country, when the terrorist organization committed terrible crimes against the Spanish people. ETA. Bittori Y Look They were best friends, but their relationship is turned upside down when the former's husband is murdered on their doorstep. Bittori lives a hell after suffering first hand the violence of ETA, the group to which the son of his inseparable companion belongs. After the death of her husband, the businessman Txato, break all relationship with Miren. After the terrorist organization announces the end of the violence, she decides to return to that city and feels the irreparable need to alter her friend's life.

In an interview for Espinof, Aitor Gabilondo explains roughly what the series is about Homeland. Likewise, he ruled out that this fiction has a Season 2, after the success of these fascinating 8 chapters.

“It is an intimate story in a context that overflows with very simple people, very close to home. Like all of us. But that context cuts through them, since I believe that all of us who encounter this reality go through without eating or drinking it. Counting it microscopically, so closely, at the same time can give us a more universal reading ”, he specified.

Criticism of the series Homeland

Homeland It has only collected positive comments and applause. There is the annoyance of the periodic premiere of the episodes, because the story hooks from the beginning. Without a doubt, one of the Spanish series that will mark the current year, a human retrospective of the pain and suffering caused by terrorist organization ETA.

For the diary The countryCarlos Boyero assured that it is a great adaptation of the novel written by Fernando Arambaru.

"A magnificent result, a credible and passionate adaptation of that dense, terrifying story (...) the series that I have liked the most of all those that have been made in this country," he said.

For her part, Mireia Mullor is not afraid to assure that it is the best Spanish series created during 2020.

"The most important Spanish series of the year (...) Shocking, emotional and, hopefully, healing: The HBO series puts the novel in pictures (...) to take another step in reconciling a conflict that still has open wounds" , indicated for Frames.

Fernando García joins the positive comments in his analysis for the newspaper The vanguard.

"You will get goosebumps (...) A hard and painful journey related to ground level (...) Elena Irureta and Ane Gabarain border on that in their interpretation of Bittori and Miren," he said.
