By default, an Excel workbook displays a horizontal and vertical scroll bar that allows you to scroll through the data in the worksheet.

Scrolling in Excel refers to scrolling up, down, or sideways through a worksheet using scroll bars, arrow keys on the keyboard, or the scroll wheel on the mouse. By default, Excel displays horizontal and vertical scroll bars at the bottom right of the Excel screen, but you can hide them.

Restore the scroll bar in Excel

  1. Click the File menu and then Options.
  2. In the sidebar, select Advanced.
  3. Scroll down to the View Options section of this book.
  4. Make sure Show Horizontal Scroll Bar and Show Vertical Scroll Bar are selected.
  5. Click OK.

Delete last active row

Since you can't be sure that other lines have not been activated between the last line with good data and the last activated line, remove all lines below your data and the last activated line.

  1. Select the lines to be removed. Select the line header with the mouse or press Shift + Space on the keyboard.
  2. Right-click on the header of one of the selected lines to open the context menu.
  3. Choose Clear to clear the selected lines.

Maximize scroll bar

If the scroll bar has been minimized to show a maximum number of cells, it is hidden until the procedure is reversed. Therefore, in this step we will maximize the scroll bar. For that:

  1. Start Excel and open the worksheet where the offset is missing.
  2. On the bottom right, check that there are "Three horizontal dots" next to the "Add" button.
  3. If the dots are present, it means that the scroll bar has been reduced.
  4. Click and hold the “Three Horizontal Dots” and drag them to the left to show the scroll bar again.

tile laying

There seems to be a bug with some versions of the program where the scrollbar could be lost if the tiles are not arranged. This is why we will arrange the tiles in this step. For that:

  1. Click on the “View” tab and select the “Organize All” option.
  2. Click on “Tile” and select “OK” to store the changes.
  3. Check if the problem persists.
