Windows 10 allows us to connect a series of audio and video peripherals and be able to choose between them in a different way, depending on which applications we use or the needs of each moment. From this dynamic, we can have our computer connected to the stereo to enjoy our favorite music or movies, but not in all cases.

Doing a normal use of Windows, with the system speakers, or with a few simple headphones that we have connected to the PC is more than enough. By allowing Windows 10 to connect a series of peripherals, it also allows us to configure when we want the audio to be played on those devices.

Change audio output in Windows 10

  • The procedure to choose where we want the sound of our equipment to be reproduced if we have different peripherals connected is as simple as clicking on the volume icon.
  • When you click on the volume icon, located at the bottom right of the toolbar, the volume bar and the audio output at that moment are shown in blue.
  • To change it, we just have to click on the current audio output and choose where we want the sound to be played.

Note that this option will remain fixed until that we disconnect the device or change it to another output source.
