As many will know, protecting files on removable storage media through a password and encryption it's too simple in the Windows 7, without the need for an external application.

This is because among its functionalities we find the tool BitLocker to go, which makes it possible to protect USB sticks immediately.

To do this, apparently, we must first connect the memory to the USB port respective, with the appropriate drivers previously installed.

Then we must press the right button of the mouse on the selected unit, selecting the option from the drop-down menu Enable BitLocker (as we see in the photograph)

From this the Graphic interface of the application will guide us point by point, being able to choose add a password, with two password fields (one to assign it and another to repeat it in case we misspell it)

Once this is done, we will be forced to create a file with the key, or print it, to avoid future headaches (we cannot avoid this step).

Then we will be offered the storage drive encryption, for which the application will do it automatically (and to give us an idea, on a 1 Terabyte disk the operating time is 12 hours)
