Imagotype

Imagotype Concept

What is an Imagotype?

Imagotype is the third and last type of logo that exists. It is the fusion of image and words with which a brand or company of any type is represented. A visual element that is composed of two main items to show the identity of a business and facilitate memorization by consumers.

The concept comes from the fusion of three different words. First of all this image, which refers to the icon that appears; second we have a logo, with which the presence of a word is indicated; and finally this type, which points to the brand that it is to identify.

It is the most complete of the three types of logos that exist, as it results from the combination of the logo (word) and the isotype (image). Through it, the public is able to associate both the word and the icon with a brand, so that, when viewed separately, they are easily identifiable and are always linked in the memory of consumers.

This merger is the pinnacle of naming and a more than important factor in branding. Any campaign or proposal related to a company must contain the logo at some point, this being also the fruit of the corporate identity work carried out to shape the image of the company.

What is an Imagotype for?

In the same way that it arises with the logo and the isotype, an imagotype serves to facilitate the accreditation of a brand. Unlike the other two, this one has a very positive extra effect for a company, and it is the ability to connect the text and the icon so that, later, the public can recognize both separately.

With a good design behind it, it helps to convey both the values, the objectives and the mentality of a business. Through a successful typeface and a good symbol, a company can communicate even more with the audience and, especially, be remembered more easily.
