It is a very popular strategy in recent years, with which it is pursued increase traffic to an article or specific publication. Even when it does not have an exact translation in Spanish, many users use words like click bait, cyber bait or even cyber bait to refer to this practice.
This is not something that is limited to text only. In addition, Clickbait cases can be found on video platforms such as Youtube, where they resort to the development of eye-catching video titles and also to the realization of miniature images that want to fully impact the user and attract them to their reproduction.
It has many different manifestations, but it always shares the same purpose and the same objective (which we will delve into below). Regardless, the making of misleading or sensational headlines that are also featured as part of this strategy is something that generally elicits more detractors than supporters.
