There may be a time when one from your device / computer is disconnected. Sign in with the last password used when you started your Windows 10 or Windows 8 computer and try to sign in. If you are facing this issue, then this contribution can help you fix the problem.
This problem can generally occur if you connect to your Windows 10 / 8.1 computer with a Microsoft account and reset the password online in your Microsoft, Outlook or Hotmail account, but forget to make the change on your computer. Additionally, you may receive this message if you accidentally entered the wrong password in the field.
This can still happen after installing Windows 10 updates.
Your device is offline
Here are some things you can try to get your Windows computer back on track. See which scenario applies to you.
1]If your device is set to automatically connect to Wi-Fi, make sure it is properly connected to the Internet or network and restart it.
2]The bottom right of the screen displays network icons that enable you to connect to the Internet. Click on the WiFi/Broadband icon and a window will open from the right as follows:
Connect your computer to the Internet and enter your Microsoft account password.

5] Our author, Arun Kumar, adds: you can prove it. Restart your computer. When you get to the login screen, hold down the Shift key while selecting the Power icon > Restart. After restarting your computer, select Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Startup Settings > Startup Settings > Restart on the options screen. After restarting your computer, select F5 for Safe Mode with Network. Go to System Restore and select a good old point and see if it helps.
6]First create a system restore point, then run regedit to open the registry editor. Then navigate to the following button:
HKEY_USERS.DEFAULTSoftwareMicrosoftIdentityCRLStoredIdentities
Expand StoredIdentities and remove the Microsoft account key that is creating problems. After that, please remove this device from your Microsoft account by clicking this link. Now try connecting and see if it works. You can always add this device to your list of devices in your Microsoft account.
7]If you reset the password online, please use the new password on your Windows 10/8 computer.
