Some customers have trouble installing TurboTax on Windows 10, where the program meets 100% and then disappears without installation.

This problem is caused by a Windows update in combination with different versions of antivirus software like Avast and AVG.
Updating your antivirus software can fix this problem. Update or disable your antivirus software to ensure a successful installation. If you disable your antivirus software, remember to restart it after the installation is complete.
Run the setup file in compatibility mode and with administrator rights
If this doesn't resolve the issue, install TurboTax in compatibility mode. To turn on compatibility mode for Windows 8:
- Right-click the TurboTax Setup.exe file.
- Select Properties.
- Select Compatibility.
- Select the Run this program in compatibility mode check box:
- Select Windows 8.
- Select Apply and OK.
- Start the TurboTax installation.
Reinstall your antivirus program.
Reinstalling the antivirus program you currently have installed on your computer should give you the most recent and stable version, which should not cause any additional problems with the TurboTax installation. Updating the antivirus program is also enough, but it is preferable to reinstall it to certainly fix other minor problems that may play a role. Follow the instructions below to reinstall your antivirus program.
- Click the Start Menu button and open Control Panel by searching for it. Also, you can click on the gear icon to open settings if you are using Windows 10.
- In Control Panel, select View As – Category in the upper right corner, and in the Programs section, click Uninstall a program.
- If you use the Settings application, a click on Applications should immediately open a list of all the programs installed on your computer.
- Find TurboTax in Control Panel or Settings and click Uninstall.
- The uninstall wizard should open, so follow the uninstall instructions.
- When the uninstaller finishes, click Finish and restart your computer to see if there are any errors.
Use the Microsoft Net Repair utility to fix the error.
Step 1 – You can download Microsoft .Net Repair Tool from Microsoft official web portal. When you run this utility, you must complete each step in the order specified by the wizard.
Step 2 – Once the repair procedure is complete, it is recommended to restart your Windows computer.
Step 3 – After the computer restarts, try again to run the TurboTax 2016 setup procedure.
