What is a Cluster?

A Cluster is a definition devised by the marketing specialist Porter. This term is used to define the group or set of companies, brands or institutions that join forces to take advantage of their different specializations in order to have certain advantages over the competition, as well as reduce costs and improve their productivity.

Within the same marketing, and specializing a little more the concept, we can refer to it as a group of people or companies who share interests and want to share their knowledge and resources to achieve mutual benefit. This cooperation is something that allows to extend the presence, increase the profitability and increase the clientele; therefore, it is a more than interesting situation in many fields.

For this to take place, there needs to be total involvement by all the managers of the companies involved, think of the cluster as something to distribute benefits and determine two layers of action: a main one that acts as a motor, with 2 or 3 companies maximum; and a secondary school that follows in its wake and complements all those fields in which it is more specialized.

Something that favors cooperation between brands and that allows the development of higher quality strategies, at the same time allowing to launch an image of collaboration and lack of competition. It is one of the initiatives with the greatest potential, since it has numerous advantages over other competitors in the same sector.

A Cluster serves to form an alliance in which each party contributes its grain of sand in order to improve productivity and, therefore, profitability. It is a strategy designed to join forces, to take advantage of the specialization of others in order to develop a collaborative environment to enjoy great advantages.

At the business level, it is a very good way to achieve new goals and improve at points where it was faltering thanks to the contribution of the other members of the cluster. For consumers, it is a situation that brings greater benefit by improving the possibilities of a business.
