Major updates, such as the one that occurred with the Windows 10 Anniversay Update, can lead to some parts of the system they don't work as they should or small errors or lack of performance arise. It is for this reason that Microsoft has launched the update in phases so that the different errors that may appear are solved.

One of these errors is the impossibility, for some users, to start the NVIDIA Control Panel which becomes more of an empty white window. This is because Windows Update thinks your NVIDIA graphics card driver is up to date, but it is not actually up to date. We are going to teach you how to fix the control panel and manually update the driver so that you have everything resolved.

How to Repair NVIDIA Control Panel in Windows 10 Anniversary Update

  • We right click on it windows start button
  • We look for Device administrator and we launched it
device-manager-3154543

  • We double click on Display adapters
  • Now double click on your Graphic chart (in my case the GTX 660)
nvidia-5831592

  • We are going to Controller tab at the top of the window
update-6741885

driver-nvidia-1249181

  • We close when the download and installation is done
  • We press on the X in the upper right corner of Device Manager
  • Now we press "Yes" to restart the computer for the driver files to install properly

Now we will have the control panel again absolutely functional with the latest version installed. Of course, we don't think it will take too long to correct this error that is appearing to some users.
