The arrival of mobile devices has made many users demand the function of moving programs or applications from one type of storage to another. This is useful as enables us to move installed programs from one hard drive to another and thus save space for other purposes, such as updates.

In mobile operating systems, where the internal storage is small, such as Android or Windows 10 Mobile, this has been done for a long time and now in Windows 10 for desktop we can also do it in an easy and simple way.

Therefore, to move a program we will use an external program called FreeMove, a program without costs that allows us to move installed programs from one computer to another, without stopping working and without the need for great technical knowledge.

In Windows 10 we can move programs like on the cell phone

For this to happen we have first of download the FreeMove program. Once downloaded and installed on our PC, we run the program and a window like the one below will appear:

In this window, in the «move from» section we indicate the current path of the application. And in chapter "a" we will indicate the new route of the application, in other words, where we will move the application. Where we can change the hard drive or the storage unit.

It is very important that let us indicate the main directory of the application since otherwise moving the application will not work and we will even have operational problems.

FreeMove's functionality is fundamentally useful when it comes to a computer with a low capacity ssd disk and a secondary hard drive that has more capacity, leaving space on the SSD for more important programs like updates.

Even though you have to remember that there are also the opportunity to install the application directly on the hard drive, we just have to modify the installation directory during the installation.
