Some users have the mania, because we can not call it otherwise, to install any application that falls close to their hands, with the excuse of just in case or I just want to try it. On these occasions, and if we are not careful with what we install, it is most likely that over time our computer becomes a difficult mass to move as we were able to do when we launched the computer.

Something similar happens with the documents we create, but unlike the applications these do not interfere with the operation and performance of our computer. When the number of documents is very large, but we do not have an organization to store it through directories, we will most likely spend less time rewriting the document than if we tried to find it.

Fortunately, Windows 10 offers us the opportunity to search apps and documents. This excellent function allows us to quickly find the documents that we have stored, since it not only searches the file name, but also searches within the files.

Search for documents in Windows 10

The arrival of Windows 10 has brought us a new search box next to start button, right where the personal assistant Cortana is also located. If we want to search for a document but do not know how we have titled it, we can write a word that we know is contained in the document.

The first result that the search will offer us, if that word is not contained in any title, it will not be final so we will have to go to the bottom of the search box and click on My Stuff, so that it performs the search among all the documents that we have stored, which includes reading the interior of each document, so this search may take a while to be carried out.

(*10*)

After the search is finished, Windows 10 will offer us the results according to the term we have been looking for. In the example used, the word Chen is only found within the document and only in the second search we have managed to find the document where that word is included.

What's more we can use the Windows 10 search to find installed applications on our hard drive, even though the fastest way, unless we have thousands of applications installed, goes to Start> Programs. If we intend to search for an application, we must proceed in the same way as if we search for documents.

First of all, we must click on the search box next to the start button. Then we just have to write the name of the application. Among all the results that appear, we must click on the result that show us your name Desktop app.
