  • At the command prompt, type the following commands, then click Sign in after each command:
    bcdedit /deletevalue nointegritychecks
    bcdedit /deletevalue loadoptions
    bcdedit / debug off
    bcdedit / deletevalue nx
  • Restart your computer.
  • Launch Steam and retest the issue.

  2. Click the Start button. Start the Run dialog with Windows + R
  3. Type cmd to launch command prompt or use Ctrl + Shift + Enter key combination
  4. Enter the following command:

Close all Steam processes and restart

  • Right-click on the taskbar and select Task Manager.
  • In the Processes tab of the Task Manager, locate all the processes running Steam, select them one by one, and click End Task for each one.
  • Click the Startup tab and remove Steam from the list of apps that run at startup.
  • Now restart your computer.
  • Once the procedure is complete, you can try reopening Steam and see if the issue still occurs.

  1. Open Control Panel by searching for the utility on the Start button or by clicking the Search button or the Cortana button on the left side of the taskbar.
  2. After opening Control Panel, switch the screen to large or small icons and scroll down to open Windows Defender Firewall.
  3. Click Windows Defender Firewall, then click the Allow an app or feature through Windows Firewall option in the list of alternatives on the left.
  4. Check the bottom of the window for the Allow another app button.
  5. In the Path section, select Evaluate. Navigate to the location where you installed Steam (C: Program Files (x86) Steam by default)
  6. Open the Bin folder and select the SteamService.exe file. Click OK.
  7. Restart your computer and check if the issue still occurs.
