OR
In order to run Steam properly on this version of Windows, the Steam service component must be installed. The service installation procedure requires administrator privileges.
What Causes Steam Service Failure?
The problem is associated with the Steam service, which is essential for the proper functioning of the Steam application.
The main cause of Steam service failure is that Steam basically does not have enough permissions to perform a specific action or access a specific file.
Another reason for the error may be that the Steam service is basically not working when it should, and the service may be faulty and you need to fix it.
Installation of the Steam service
For Steam to work properly on this version of Windows, the Steam service component must be installed. The service installation procedure requires administrator rights.
Set the Steam service to start automatically.
One of the most common causes of this problem is the non-automatic start of the Steam service. Thus, you should verify this setting and correct it if necessary.
- Open the Run dialog box by pressing the Windows + R key combination on your keyboard.
- Type “services.msc” without quotes in the Run box and click OK to open Services.
- Busque el servicio de Customer Support de Steam en el listado de servicios, haga clic con el botón derecho y seleccione Propiedades en el menú emergente que aparece.
- Once the service has started, you need to stop it by clicking the "Stop" button in the middle of the window. If it has already stopped, leave it (for now) as it is.
- Make sure the option in the Startup Type menu in Steam Customer Service Properties is set to Automatic before proceeding with the instructions. Confirm any dialog boxes that may appear when setting the startup type. Click the "Start" button in the middle of the window before exiting.
If a Start click fails: “Windows was unable to start Steam Customer Support on the local computer. Error 1079: "The account specified for this service is different from the account specified for other services in the same procedure", then you should continue with the following steps.
- Open the Run dialog box by pressing the Windows + R key combination on your keyboard.
- Type “services.msc” without quotes in the Run box and click OK to open Services.
- Find the properties of the cryptographic service. Go to the “Login” tab and click the “Evaluate…” button.
- Enter your account name in the “Enter the object name you want to choose” field, click the “Verify names” button and wait for the name to be recognized.
- Click OK when finished and enter the password in the Password field when prompted if you have set a password.
- Check if the steam service error still occurs.
(*10*)Enabling the Steam service

This can also indicate a failure in the steam service. Try to activate the steam service:
- Turn off the steam.
- Click Start > Run (Windows key + R)
- Enter the following command:
C: Program Files (x86) Steam bin Steamservice.exe / Install
(If you have installed Steam to a different path, replace C:\Programs (x86)\Steam with the correct path.)
- This command requires administrator rights and may take a few minutes.
- Launch Steam and retest the issue.
Run Steam as administrator

If Steam does not have sufficient permissions to perform a specific action or access a specific file, you may be getting the Steam error message. At this point, the simplest answer is to run Steam as administrator.
- Find the Steam shortcut on your desktop. Right-click on it and select “Property” from the context menu.
- Switch to the Compatibility tab in the Properties window.
- Check the box next to Run this program as an administrator.
- Click Apply and OK to store the changes. You can then close the window.
Afterwards, you can restart Steam to see if the Steam error has been fixed.
