We discussed how to make money from your WordPress blog previously, but that&#039;s not the only way you can leverage WordPress to build a successful business.<\/p>\n<p>Many people (including R Marketing Digital) make a living selling products and services for WordPress. Today we will look at what you can create to help other WordPress users and the specific pros and cons to consider before you start selling.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Gane-dinero-con-los-productos-de-WordPress\"><\/span>Make money with WordPress products<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If you&#039;re using WordPress, you&#039;re definitely using (or have used) at least a few third-party products at the same time to go along with your main install. In my experience, there are three main products that many WordPress users are willing to pay a premium for.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"1-y-2-Temas-y-complementos-premium-de-WordPress\"><\/span>1. and 2. Premium WordPress themes and plugins<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>One of the biggest markets related to WordPress is the market for themes and plugins. There are countless independent premium theme shops (<a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/themebeans.com\/\">ThemeBeans<\/a>, ThemeIsle, Anariel Design, etc.) at the same time as theme megamarkets like Themeforest or Templatemonster that host countless products from many different developers.<\/p>\n<p>If you are a developer and confident in your coding ability, creating premium themes or plugins is a great way to generate income. The only investment necessary is your time! Once you create an original product, you only need to select whether you prefer to start your own store, sell in a market, or balance a combination of hassles.<\/p>\n<p><img alt='start-wordpress-store-5305230' class=\"alignnone\" src='https:\/\/rmarketingdigital.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/start-wordpress-store-5305230.jpg' width=\"800\" height=\"450\"><\/p>\n<p>Elegant Themes is a brilliant example of <strong>independent theme and plugin store<\/strong> making a name for themselves. What started as a small themed membership site has grown into a multi-million dollar business, all built on the premise of offering premium WordPress themes and plugins at an affordable price. Other notable success stories include OptinMonster, Themify, DesignModo, Soliloquy, and StudioPress, among many others.<\/p>\n<p>The biggest advantage of starting your own store is that you have 100% in control of all decisions. You decide your prices. You decide what you are selling. You decide if you need to carry out promotions.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, running your own store can be difficult because you are the one who runs it. This means you need to take extra precautions for the security of customer data, make sure you follow all local e-commerce laws, and if you&#039;re selling internationally, there are additional laws that you need to comply with. Its alot!<\/p>\n<p>There are options like Shopify that you can use to help you better manage your store, but you will just have to do your research to see which e-commerce method works best for your store.<\/p>\n<p><img alt='sell-wordpress-marketplace-4384917' class=\"alignnone\" src='https:\/\/rmarketingdigital.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/sell-wordpress-marketplace-4384917.jpg' width=\"800\" height=\"450\"><\/p>\n<p>For R Marketing Digital we have chosen <strong>use markets<\/strong> for our premium themes. You can currently find us on Themeforest and Creative Market. In our case, we felt it was easier to let someone else manage the transactions for us, while we continued to handle the development and support of the theme.<\/p>\n<p>The two main challenges of using marketplaces is that they usually have strict and lengthy review processes and at the same time take a percentage of sales. In our experience, we have found that the review process many times improves items and the nominal fee is worth more than not having to manage our own e-commerce system.<\/p>\n<p><img alt='sell-wordpress-products-everywhere-7503469' class=\"alignnone\" src='https:\/\/rmarketingdigital.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/sell-wordpress-products-everywhere-7503469.jpg' width=\"800\" height=\"450\"><\/p>\n<p>Finally, you have the option to take advantage of both and sell your items non-exclusively in the markets and in your own store.<\/p>\n<p>Brands such as Themefuse, ArrayThemes and Anariel Design have done a great job tapping the markets for the exhibition, as well as their own stores for closer control over sales.<\/p>\n<p>One caveat with this option is that some marketplaces like Themeforest charge non-exclusive authors a higher selling fee. This means that you may need to lose a little more of your income to have the flexibility to sell in a range of locations.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, the more places you sell your items, the more places you have to provide item support. You will need to create a central support location (such as a customer forum or ticketing site that uses a service like HelpScout or ZenDesk) or take the time to log into multiple author accounts to provide customers with adequate support for the articles.<\/p>\n<p>All three options are amazing ways to sell your own products. Just keep in mind that no matter which method you choose, it will take time to establish yourself as a trusted developer or brand in the WordPress community. Don&#039;t be discouraged if you don&#039;t see a lot of sales at first. Connect with blogs to help promote your items, create premium add-ons for your products, or consider creating \u201clight\u201d versions for additional exposure.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"3-Cursos-y-libros-electronicos-de-WordPress\"><\/span>3. So why not provide a product that helps them do just that?<\/p>\n<p>Knowledgeable people have created premium e-books, guides, and even online courses (such as those offered at <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.udemy.com\/\">Udemy<\/a>or sell them yourself with <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.learndash.com\/\">LearnDash<\/a> or other WordPress course tool) to help new users with everything from starting a blog for the first time to developing their own custom plugins.<\/p>\n<p>The best part of offering educational products is that you don&#039;t have to be a developer or designer to create a useful product that users will buy. It will not be good to work with all clients (trust us, we know that and we even wrote an article on how to say goodbye to nightmarish clients). Some clients will be happy with your work and you will never hear from them again. Others will message you many times with new requests.
