been a company concerned with the security of user data. <strong>Since Windows XP an encryption system called EFS was implemented <\/strong>that allowed to protect sensitive information by means of a password defined by the user, a system that has been maintained <strong>up to current Windows 10<\/strong> for compatibility and despite its security problems.<\/p>\n<p>Over time, the encryption function has been improved in the following versions of the system, at the same time as the appearance of third-party tools for the same purpose or, even, to be implemented <strong>a new one using virtual containers called BitLocker<\/strong>. In the next tutorial, we will show you some alternatives to encrypt your data with Windows 10.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Cifre-la-informacion-con-EFS\"><\/span><span id=\"Cifrarla_informacion_con_EFS\">Encrypt information with EFS<\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Probably the fastest way to encrypt a document inside a computer <strong>with Windows 10 you are using your own encryption utility called EFS<\/strong> (Encrypted file service). This tool is very simple and will provide protection for all your files in a matter of a few clicks.<\/p>\n<p>Before showing you the system, we must warn you that files encrypted through it <strong>EFS are associated with the user account with which they are created.<\/strong>. Other user accounts, even if they have administrator permissions, will not be able to access your content. Thus, <strong>make sure you keep your password<\/strong> or your file will be permanently locked.<\/p>\n<p>Then we can get down to it.
