Shopify is arguably one of the best ecommerce platforms of our time. WordPress, apart from this, is the best content management system on the web. Pair the awesome eCommerce functionality of Shopify with the powerful WordPress CMS features through the WP Shopify plugin, and you get all the tools you need to build an online store that is out of this world.

Or wouldn't it be great to sell your Shopify products on WordPress? In this bar review guide, we show you exactly how to set up the WP Shopify plugin so that you can harness the power of WordPress and Shopify like a boss.

The WP Shopify plugin helps you expand your Shopify store using native WordPress functionality. As an example, the plugin enables you to take advantage of the wide range of WordPress themes and plugins to promote your store. To get a clearer picture, you can think of WordPress as the ecommerce front-end and Shopify as the back-end.

With that preamble, let's find out why WP Shopify is the best way to integrate WordPress with Shopify. Sounds great right? Great, let's dance.

What is WP Shopify?

wp-shopify-free-plugin-3747452

WP Shopify is a nifty plugin that enables you to sell Shopify products on your WordPress site without installing and setting up an e-commerce system like WooCommerce.

The plugin syncs your Shopify store data as custom post types, giving you the opportunity to use the full power of the WordPress CMS. At the same time, WP Shopify helps you add the Shopify buy button anywhere on your WordPress site, making for a seamless shopping experience.

WP Shopify doesn't handle payments. Once the buyer presses the checkout button, they are redirected to their Shopify checkout page to complete the transaction. In other words, you will only use Shopify to process payments.

If you've used Shopify before, you know it's a powerful ecommerce platform, but it has nothing on WordPress as a website builder.

Notable features of WP Shopify include:

  • Ability to import your Shopify products and collections as WordPress posts
  • Countless templates to help you build an online store out of this world
  • Use the Shopify SDK to host a full-featured shopping cart in your WordPress store
  • No iFrames thanks to responsive Shopify buy button
  • SEO ready design
  • Ability to store your Shopify store data in custom WordPress database tables
  • More than 100 actions and filters to help you customize your online store the way you want
  • Compatibility with WordPress themes and plugins

If you're interested, you can upgrade to WP Shopify Pro to access more than 80 templates, automatic and selective syncing with your Shopify store, cross-domain tracking, dedicated support, and more.

In this section, we learn how to set up WP Shopify and integrate it with Shopify. You can start with the free version and then upgrade to the pro version based on your needs. That out of the way, let's get down to business.

WP Shopify installation
