The Web Architecture is the information hierarchy in a web portal. Among the objectives pursued by the Web Architecture are that of solve the needs of an online business, which include the sale of products, the services offered online and guaranteed satisfaction to customers who contact said business. Likewise, Web Architecture is closely linked to the study of keywords and the way of browsing through the different contents that a web portal has.

Some key concepts to know the Web Architecture are Web Taxonomy and Web Ontology. The first refers to the different terms that divide a web portal. And the second refers to the relationships maintained by the different taxonomies of the web, which, in general, are made up of the internal links inserted in the articles.
In Web Architecture, the design of the user interface, the design of the app and the information architecture are also taken into account. In the first, it focuses on the visual aspect of the site and the structure of its different sections; in the second, the Web Architecture analyzes which are the functionalities of the app; and, the third, determines the information that the app must deal with in the real world.

What is the Web Architecture for

The web architecture serves to facilitate the visual grouping of the contents of a web portal, both for the company and for the user. At the same time as sales promotion, advertising benefits and more, the Web Architecture allows the user to navigate more easily and to perform the different actions established by the site quickly.

Designing the Web Architecture of a site requires a lot of work and experience, as well as a lot of discipline and constant training to offer enriching experiences to users who visit the web portal.

Examples of Web Architecture

As examples of Web Architecture, we can mention two types: horizontal and vertical. Horizontal Web Architecture is one that contains few levels, generating fewer clicks to the different pages of the web portal.

The vertical Web Architecture, on the other hand, contains many levels and generates more clicks. This last structure is not recommended for an ecommerce, because they make the purchase procedure difficult.
