Spammer

Spammer concept

What is a spammer?

A Spammer is a person who is dedicated to spamming the Internet. It can do it for multiple purposes, but its mission is always the same: abuse the sending of communications of any kind in digital media to bombard a specific number of users or anyone it can reach.

Even though we have presented it as a person, it can also be a robot or bot. In reality, some brands use these to promote their visibility without being directly linked, since they do not have a reason to refer to it in any aspect other than the content of the message.

Unfortunately for those who resort to bots, users are increasingly averse to spammers and, at the same time, they are quick to highlight those behind them, causing the image of the brand in question to be more damaged than benefited. This tactic is being used less and less on the Internet because of how invasive and annoying it can be in the eyes of the audience.

Both Spam and the figure of Spammer are increasingly persecuted by consumers, even though that does not mean that it can be used sensibly and without being invasive or annoying. Some companies continue to use this strategy with greater subtlety and in different ways to obtain such a positive approach for their business.

What is a spammer for

A Spammer is used so that a message, a promotion or any type of content that you want to spread reaches a large number of people and repeatedly. It does not matter if they are interested or not, the message is still sent to try to capture the attention of potential interested parties.

At the same time, due to the fact of spamming, this figure specifically helps firms that rely on this type of strategy a lot, since it can do the entire dissemination procedure fully automatically through the bots that we have mentioned. Thus, if it works, it is something that helps to significantly increase the visibility of any firm. In spite of everything, it can jeopardize the image of the brand itself.

Examples of Spammer

Examples of Spammer can be found many, both in social networks and in forums or even through mail marketing campaigns. This figure is more present on the Internet than it seems, however, since it is being pointed out more and more easily and, at the same time, the brand it mentions is also pointed out, it is beginning to be used less.

An example of this could be, following a hypothetical case, a user who was visiting forums of all kinds to campaign for our digital marketing agency, NeoAttack. Someone who was, regardless of the theme of the forum or the web, always publishing the same message to point to our website. That would be a clear case of spammer and spam.
