How to format the funnel chart in Power BI with an example? Formatting the funnel chart in Power BI includes changing the funnel chart title, chart colors, title position, data labels, and background colors, and more.
To demonstrate these Power BI funnel chart formatting options, we'll use the funnel chart we created earlier. See the Power BI funnel chart article to understand the steps required to create the Power BI funnel chart.
How to format the funnel chart in Power BI
Click on the Format to see the list of formatting options that are available for this funnel chart.
Format category labels in a funnel chart in Power BI
The category labels show the information about each box (here, sales territory region names). You can use this section to format those tags. In the screenshot below, you can see that we changed the label color to Brick Red, Text Size to 14, and Font Family to Corbel.
Format Power BI funnel chart data colors
By default, all funnel chart boxes are displayed in a single default color. You can use this section of data colors to change the colors of the chart.
First, toggle Show everything options Off to In. It allows you to choose the specific color for each box.
For demonstration purposes, we changed the colors of all existing boxes.

Format data labels in a funnel chart in Power BI
The data labels show metric information (sales amount for each bar) about the bar.
As you can see in the screenshot below we changed the Data Label Color to Dark Gray, Display Units from Automatic to Miles. We also changed the Label Position to Inner Center, Text Size to 20, and Font Family to DIN.
Format Conversion Rate Labels for Power BI Funnel Chart
Select Conversion Rate Label and change the option from Off to In. It shows 100% at the top and 0% at the bottom of the funnel chart.
As you can see in the following screenshot, we changed the color to green, the font style to DIN, and the font size to 15. In general, you can disable this feature.
Format the Power BI funnel chart title
By toggling the Title of In to Off, you can turn off the title of a funnel chart.
As you can see in the screenshot below, we changed the title text to Sales Amount by Sales Territory Region. And we also changed the font color to green, the font style to corbel, the font size to 27, and the title-center alignment. If you want, you can also add the background color to the title.
Add background color to funnel chart in Power BI
You can add the background color to the funnel chart by toggling Background option a In. For demonstration purposes, we enabled this feature and added a background color. Here you can also change the transparency percentage.
Let me remove the background color by clicking on the Return to defaults option
Add border to funnel chart in Power BI
You can add borders to the funnel chart by toggling the Border option of Off to In. For demonstration purposes, we enabled Borders and added Black as the Border color.
Use the general section to change the X, Y position, width and height of a funnel chart
Divergent option in Power BI funnel chart
If you add any valid column to the Color saturation , then you can use this Divergent option to add colors to the Funnel Chart Boxes. To demonstrate the same, we are adding the sales amount to the color saturation.
Now, you can see that the Default color option under the Data colors section replaced with Divergent option. Let me add the Minimum, Center and Maximum colors. Remember, you also have the option of adding the Minimum, Center, and Maximum values.
