Many Windows users take additional security measures after being notified by their antivirus program of the presence of antivirus software (Win32: BogEnt) that has been removed from their computer or transferred to the quarantine directory. Virus scanning is only reported with third-party antivirus software (AVG and McAfee are the most reported). The problem is not exclusive to a particular version of Windows as it happened in Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10.
Win32:BogEnt Susp is classified as Trojan malware. It was created by hackers to attack owners of computers with Windows operating system. By secretly entering your computer and running it remotely, Win32:BogEnt Susp can cause all kinds of damage to your computer in a short period of time. Win32:BogEnt Susp may also introduce backdoors to allow hackers and other malware to access your system.
Malware creates backdoors by attacking the root directory of the system. If more dangerous code is entered in the C directory, hackers access your computer and take it hostage by modifying programs and files. If Win32:BogEnt Susp can also spy on sensitive data and communicate with hackers, you could soon become a victim of identity theft. Experts advise you that if you want to avoid such scenarios, it is better to delete Win32: BogEnt Susp as soon as your antimalware programs detect it.
Repeat scan with another AV device
If you encounter this issue when updating or opening Steam, there is a good chance you are dealing with a false positive; It's almost a no-brainer whether you're using Avast or AVG as an active security suite. There is no official explanation for this situation, but false positives on Steam have existed on Avast and AVG for years.
Update: An Avast representative confirmed that a false positive can occur on Steam due to their heuristic analysis of how their hot loading works.
Delete Win32:BogEnt[Susp] from Windows Control Panel.
Uninstall Win32:BogEnt[Susp] from Windows 10 computer.
- Click the Start menu and select Settings.
- In the settings windows, select System.
- Now click on the App & Features option.
- Find the Win32 related program: BogEnt[Susp] and click the Uninstall button.
