If you download Elementor (Free or Pro) with Safari browser for Mac, you may encounter the following problem:
Safari automatically opens ZIP files and therefore cannot download Elementor as a ZIP folder.
To fix this problem, go to your Safari Preferences and under General, uncheck 'Open "safe" files after downloading‘.
Note: The file must be compressed and uploaded as a ZIP file.
